I'm writing to you from Heathrow Airport after having spent a wonderful week in London with my business partner Paul Counts -- over a nice lunch I had a chance to introduce him to the great Dominic Frisby, your favorite Tom Woods Show guest and author of The Secret History of Gold, the U.S. version of which is being released this week.
I might mention, in brief parentheses, that I took a quick train from London out to Stoke-on-Trent to see Ian Anderson, the 78-year-old flautist and Jethro Tull frontman. Some may say Ian's career really took off after his appearance on episode #3 of the Tom Woods Show. (Some may say that, ladies and gentlemen.)
At any rate, I had a fantastic time from my front-row seat:
At any rate, back to The Secret History of Gold, which I'm interviewing Dominic about for the Tom Woods Show this week:
Gold permeates human history: it's in our myths and legends, it's in our turns of phrase, it symbolizes and represents honor and esteem and accomplishment. And on top of all that and much besides, to say that its monetary record outperformed any government-issued paper issued since would be a grotesque understatement.
Try to discuss gold in respectable circles, however, and you will be treated like a deranged lunatic. Why, don't you know gold gave us depressions, while our paper money managed by people with PhD degrees has been so much more stable? And how are the authorities supposed to manage the money supply and enact "monetary policy" with a substance like gold that they can't multiply at will?
Answer: they aren't. We who know the truth and who value honesty and civilization don't want them to. The best "monetary policy" is none at all, and the ideal is a complete separation of money and state.
I feel sure you will enjoy our episode, coming out on Wednesday -- links to subscribe for free are available by clicking here -- and you will certainly enjoy The Secret History of Gold, which is a perfect gift for anyone who thinks the way you and I do.
Finally, a reminder that the early-bird special on our social media masterclass -- that shows you how to use tools that you and I forty years ago would have thought must be out of science fiction in order to spread our ideas, acquire more subscribers, and/or make more sales -- expires tonight at midnight.
To be more precise, the price doubles at midnight, so click and get before that happens:
