Dear Reader, Jeff Bezos is terrified. He will be down on his knees, hands out, begging Elon for mercy. Because Elon is about to do something that will: Cut Amazon out of the AI race ENTIRELY… Completely DESTROY Blue Origin… And take control of the potential $25 TRILLION DOLLAR PER YEAR AI INDUSTRY And in his wake, potentially create 1,806,000 NEW millionaires over the coming years… Starting December 8th. And this is your chance to be one of them. Elon Musk is currently quietly planning the biggest project of his entire career. And a single FCC filing proves it, click here to see why. This is bigger than Tesla, SpaceX, and X combined. And I believe it will not only cement Elon as the winner of the AI race… It will allow Elon to control the entire industry. Something of this magnitude has never happened in the history of the human race. And it’s happening FAST. According to my timeline, you must act by December 8th. I explain everything right here. >>>This is your free Millionaire Maker Masterclass… and it starts right now. Sincerely, James Altucher P.S. SanDisk’s $1,800 Breakout Turns Memory Hardware Into a Profit StoryReported by Jeffrey Neal Johnson. Posted: 9/24/2026.
Key Points
- Sandisk shares have surpassed $1,800 as AI-driven demand for enterprise NAND storage reshapes how investors value memory hardware companies.
- Sandisk has secured buyers for about half of this year's output and roughly two-thirds of next year's production through price-floor contracts, reducing cyclical risk.
- A $14 billion share buyback and S&P 100 index inclusion are driving institutional demand while offsetting insider stock sales.
- Special Report: A Wall Street Veteran's Weekly Options Strategy Explained
Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) crossing the $1,800 threshold represents a shift in how the broader market values memory hardware. For decades, storage was a cyclical, commoditized component tied to personal computer upgrades and consumer electronics. That model is breaking down. Driven by hyperscaler demand for agentic artificial intelligence (AI) cluster hardware, high-bandwidth storage has become a primary bottleneck in data center buildouts. This constraint gives top-tier memory manufacturers distinct pricing power. With single-day trading volumes routinely approaching $14 billion, institutional capital is aggressively repricing the sector. The enterprise NAND supercycle is altering Sandisk's long-term outlook, prompting analysts to recalibrate their models for a permanent decoupling from legacy market cycles. The AI Hardware Chokepoint
The financial sector has historically treated memory makers with caution, applying low multiples because of the industry's boom-and-bust nature. The rise of artificial intelligence is changing that valuation framework entirely. Training and running complex AI models requires moving exceptionally large datasets rapidly, placing heavy strain on existing storage architectures. Agentic AI, in which autonomous systems execute multistep tasks without human intervention, requires constant, high-speed data retrieval. Enterprise solid-state drives are now a critical chokepoint in this computing process. Wall Street recognizes this physical infrastructure bottleneck. Rosenblatt Securities recently initiated coverage on Sandisk with a $2,400 price target. This projection reflects a thesis that artificial intelligence workloads are elevating NAND flash from a generic component to an indispensable piece of data center infrastructure. When supply becomes tightly constrained, particularly as corporate technology giants commit billions to data center expansion, suppliers gain structural leverage. This dynamic makes the recent run past $1,800 appear less like a cyclical peak and more like the early stages of a sustained valuation reset for Sandisk Corporation. Caching Profits With Unprecedented MarginsLooking under the hood, the fundamental metrics support this structural shift. Sandisk is currently operating with net margins near 56% and a return on equity approaching 88%. While a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of around 25 might seem standard for a technology hardware provider, forward estimates reveal a different reality. Analysts project that the forward price-to-earnings ratio will compress below nine, yielding a price-to-earnings growth ratio of approximately 0.18. A price-to-earnings growth ratio near 0.18 signals that the broader market has not fully priced in this anticipated earnings trajectory, indicating a discount relative to projected growth. Sandisk is generating this profitability through a highly disciplined approach to supply chain management. The most critical fundamental development involves how Sandisk is handling the surge in demand. Rather than selling into the spot market and risking future price depreciation, Sandisk has secured buyers for about half of its current-year output. Sandisk has also locked in agreements for roughly two-thirds of next year's production through contracts with established price floors. This forward-contracting strategy effectively neutralizes near-term downside from cyclicality. Corporate hyperscalers are accepting these multiquarter price increases to guarantee the hardware needed to support their infrastructure buildouts. Defragmenting the Float: The $14 Billion BuybackBeyond the product cycle, Sandisk is benefiting from significant structural changes in its shareholder base. Sandisk's recent inclusion in the S&P 100 index is both a symbolic changing of the guard and a literal catalyst for capital inflows. Index inclusion forces passive funds and institutional managers to accumulate shares, creating a reliable underlying bid that can help stabilize Sandisk during broader market pullbacks. Management is leaning into this capital influx by initiating a $14 billion share repurchase authorization. At current valuations, this buyback program targets approximately 6.6% of the outstanding float. Aggressive capital-return programs serve a dual purpose for long-term investors. First, they mechanically boost earnings per share by reducing the overall share count. Second, they provide ample liquidity to absorb programmatic insider selling. Recently, executive leadership executed scheduled stock sales through prearranged Rule 10b5-1 plans. While insider selling during peak pricing cycles can sometimes create sentiment friction, a $14 billion corporate buyback easily offsets these distributions. Sandisk is effectively buying back shares faster than insiders can sell them, establishing a firm fundamental floor beneath the equity. Scanning for Threats in the Global Memory MarketNo fundamental thesis is without risk, and the memory sector still faces macro-level variables. Traders have recently taken profits across the broader semiconductor space, bringing peers like Micron (NASDAQ: MU) and SK hynix (NASDAQ: SKHY) down alongside Sandisk in daily trading sessions. This suggests standard sector-wide consolidation rather than a specific flaw in Sandisk's underlying business model. Emerging production expansions from foreign rivals, specifically CXMT in China, present a long-term supply risk for commodity memory. However, the enterprise artificial intelligence storage market is highly specialized. The stringent quality, thermal management and performance requirements for AI inferencing insulate top-tier manufacturers from low-end commodity competition. While legacy consumer storage may face pricing pressure from overseas expansion, the high-density enterprise solid-state drive market remains tightly controlled by a few established players with the technical expertise to meet hyperscaler demands. Sandisk Corporation remains insulated from these lower-tier price wars. Final Execution: Positioning for the AI Memory WaveThe transition from a personal computer component supplier to a cornerstone of AI infrastructure has revalued the enterprise memory market. Investors watching Sandisk's ascent toward $1,800 are seeing the repricing of a business that has strategically secured future revenue streams while returning significant capital to shareholders. The combination of price-floor contracts and a shrinking share float creates a compelling fundamental setup. Those with a long-term horizon might add Sandisk to their watchlist to monitor how the forward-contracting strategy affects upcoming quarterly earnings. Cautious investors may prefer to wait for broader sector consolidation to run its course, looking for technical support levels to hold before taking a position. The data suggests the storage supercycle has years to play out, offering an intriguing setup for those seeking exposure to the physical infrastructure powering the next generation of computing. . |
