Hi Friends,
We’re having a party and you’re invited!
This summer we’re celebrating two Centerpointe milestones.
First, as you can see , this is the 100th JCI essay!
Each week, for the last 100 weeks, I’ve dropped a little essay, like this one, in your inbox. Stories, reminders, some interesting brain research I wanted to share, things like that.
When we first started JCI essays, I wanted to keep things light and conversational. I wanted to build a relationship with you. And I have to say that I think we’ve succeeded! I’ve heard from so many that enjoy JCI stories and even share them with friends and family!
So, here’s to 100 JCI essays, and to the next 100!
As for the other milestone, well that one’s even more personal for me. This summer marks my 30th anniversary at Centerpointe. Which, to be honest, kind of blows my mind. Thirty years? Goodness! Where has the time gone?
You see, when I first took this job, I intended it to be a temporary gig until something else came along! If you’d told me back in August of 1996 that 30 years later I’d be talking about an anniversary party, I don’t think I would have believed you!
But here we are, and here I am, and next week on Wednesday, July 22nd, we’re hosting a live CoachingCast to celebrate both milestones.
During the call I’m going to do something I’ve never done before, which is to finally tell the story of how I ended up doing sound design and coaching with Centerpointe.
Believe it or not, I haven’t always worked at Centerpointe. So what was I up to before that? You might be surprised!
I’ll tell you how I met our late founder, Bill Harris, which is kind of an amusing story with a few twists and turns. I’ll talk about Centerpointe’s early days, what it was like before Google, streaming, downloading, and digital media. And about the moment that made me decide to make Centerpointe more than just a temp job.
I’ll also be talking about four important themes that stick out to me looking back over the last 30 years. And how they benefit you!
Plus there will be prizes, special announcements. It should be a ton of fun.
So will you join me?
I sure hope you can make time to be there for the live event. And please invite a friend or two!
Here’s the link to the RSVP page with more details.
I hope to see you there!
And before I go, I’d love to know if there’s one JCI essay out of the last 100 that really clicked with you or that you especially enjoyed. Drop me a note and let me know!
So for the 100th time (and counting):
Until next time, this is me, Just Checking In!
