Day One of the inaugural Phoenician League Investment Summit is officially in the books... and friends, what a start.
We had four sessions, four very different voices, and one thread running through all of them: the old financial order is cracking, and the people who build something more robust now will be glad they did.
Paul Rosenberg kicked us off with a discussion on structures.
Paul was there at the birth of the commercial internet, and he was there in the early cypherpunk days that gave rise to Bitcoin. Those experiences give him a great lens through which to view the structures that have dominated the 20th century world.
Paul walked us through why so many institutions that people assumed were permanent are losing their grip today, right before our eyes. His conclusion is that things are coming in our direction... but it will be a messy transition in which we can each play a part.
If you would like to keep up with Paul going forward, you can find his Substack at https://thefindings.substack.com/ and his online e-book store at https://veraverba.com/.
Then Marc Tancer took the stage on gold, and he opened with a pair of video clips that make a point no lecture could.
Marc showed a clip of Dave Ramsey insisting that nobody ever turns to gold when their own currency fails. Marc then showed footage from Zimbabwe in 2008, where people were pricing cooking oil, soap, and millet meal in gold... because the local currency had stopped working.
From there he covered how gold really trades, what premiums mean, and the simple ways to avoid overpaying. It was part history lesson, part buyer's manual.
If you would like to work with Marc directly to buy precious metals going forward, you can contact him at (201) 615-4044 or marc@taggarttrading.com. You can also explore his business web site at https://southfloridabullion.com/.
Wesley Schlemmer followed Marc with a discussion on the current state of Bitcoin.
Wes walked us through the sharp drawdown of the past year, why he sees it as milder than past cycles, and why he thinks patient holders are quietly absorbing the supply. Then he told the story of how his Tampa Bay community went from about 30 Bitcoin-accepting businesses to roughly 1,300 in six months.
His closing advice was simple: find your community. If there isn't one, start one.

Hans Toohey and Brian Moody closed the day with a session on infinite banking that reframed a question most of us never think to ask: where does your money live before you invest it?
Their suggestion that you finance everything you buy, either by paying someone else interest or by giving up the interest you could have earned, is worth sitting with. The Remnant Finance motto says it all: Stop being a passenger.
If you would like to explore how infinite banking can work for your situation and take back control of your financial sovereignty, you can book a free consultation with the Remnant Finance team at https://remnantfinance.com/calendar.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to join us today. And thanks to our great speakers who were gracious enough with their time to do a session for us.
Tomorrow, we turn from foundations to the macro picture. Tom Dyson will kick it off at 1:00 PM Eastern, and he’ll be followed by Nick Giambruno, E.B. Tucker and Dan Denning.
We are going to hit on a wide range of big-picture topics tomorrow, and we’re going to benefit from the perspective of four really sharp people. I think you’ll find that there’s a thread that will run throughout though, and each session will bring with it tangible investing insight.
I’ll follow up with your Day Two access link in the morning. See you tomorrow!
Joe Withrow
